Now in her second full season with Nevada Ballet Theatre, Beth Barbre leads the administrative, marketing and fundraising activities of the company. She is also responsible for recruiting and cultivating a strong board of directors.
Before joining Nevada Ballet Theatre, Beth served seven years as Managing Director of Oregon Ballet Theatre (OBT). During her tenure, she was responsible for putting the company on sound financial footing by implementing a comprehensive marketing, fundraising and financial management program.
In 2000, Beth led the effort to locate, purchase and design OBT's first permanent home, which includes state-of-the art dance studios and offices on a full city block in Portland . She also led the effort to raise nearly $1 million toward completion of OBT'S Phase II building campaign.
In addition, Beth facilitated the international search for a new artistic director that resulted in the hiring of Christopher Stowell in 2003.
Prior to joining OBT, Beth spent five years as Administrator of the George Balanchine Trust in New York City , licensing the works of the 20 th Century's greatest choreographer and educating audiences worldwide about his legacy. She also served five years as Company Manager of the New York City Ballet, America 's pre-eminent dance company.
A graduate of the University of the South at Sewanee , TN , Beth earned a Masters Degree in Performing Arts Administration from New York University .
