ACADEMY OF NEVADA BALLET THEATRE
Performance Opportunities
---------------------------------------------------------------
The Nutcracker
Every September, Academy of Nevada Ballet Theatre students ages 7 and up are encouraged to audition for Nevada Ballet Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker. A longstanding holiday tradition in Las Vegas, The Nutcracker has been a part of Nevada Ballet Theatre’s repertoire for thirty years.
Performing in Nevada Ballet Theatre’s professional company production of The Nutcracker allows students the opportunity to improve their performance skills, enhance their knowledge of the classical repertoire and receive the opportunity to share the stage with professional dancers. Students outside of the Academy are also welcome to audition each season.

Annual Spring Concert
At the end of every school year, Academy students perform in the Academy’s annual Spring Concert normally held the first weekend in June. There are three performances to accommodate all Academy classes: the Modern, Character, Tap, Jazz, and Musical Theatre classes perform together in the Dance Program’s Spring Concert; First Steps, Music & Movement, and Pre-Ballet 1-3 classes perform together in a children’s story ballet and the Pre-Professional ballet classes stage a full-length production of a classical ballet directed by Academy Principal Anna Lantz.

Saturday Ensemble
In the spring, Academy students in Pre-Ballet 1-3 and Ballet 1-8 are eligible to enroll in the Saturday Ensemble, a performance group that rehearses and performs an additional number in the annual Spring Concert. This experience gives students an opportunity to improve their dance skills, gain additional training and experience, develop their knowledge of the classical and contemporary repertoire and polish their performance ability.
